Recommended Credit Cards?

I'm looking for some recommendations for a credit card... Currently I'm a student and I have no credit, and I'd like to build some credit. I don't have any monthly bills that would generate credit, and I've checked my credit and there is no credit report found.

I plan on paying off the card every month on time, never spending money that I don't have to spend. Basically replacing my Check Card so I can actually build my credit.

So far I've been looking at the American Express Blue for Students and it seems to be a decent card... I haven't heard of any problems with AMEX and that's partly why I'm considering them, other then the relatively low APR.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's not what you should get, it's what you're able to get. With no credit most companies will just reject you. I'd go with a BoA student card since they usually qualify you for one.

I started out with a student Visa from my bank. It was the best way to get one because I wasn't working at the time, thus didn't have any income. It worked well for me and since I've moved onto a Southwest Chase card to get rewards (free flights).

However, you might want to try a dividends card or something like that. There are other users on this board who might be able to help you more with that.

Searching for it on the board will help too...lots of people with CC questions.

I have a Disco (Gas), AMEX(Costco/Shopping), MC (Food/Shopping), and Visa Check/ATM card (Cash). That's enough for me.
