Hi,

I think I'll need about a 350W PSU for my new system.

Assuming I purchase locally (South Africa), I have access to the following brands at least:

Antec, Vantec, AOpen, Zalman and ThermalTake. (some of the more well-known names)

Which PSU would you recommend?

Thanks,

D.

AOpen PSUs are generally made by Fortron and should be good based on the needs of your system but many of the AOpens are of the old design that are deficient on the +12 rail for modern systems. You should also have Fortron/Sparkle there which is where I'd look for high value PSUs in that power range. Seasonic (SP12 330 or 380) and Zippy (HG2-6300P, 6350P or 6400P) also make great PSUs in that power range with high end features and prices to match.

Both Zalman and Aopen have their PSUs manufactured by Forton-Source; I wouldn't hesitate to pick up either one.
