My system bits are:
CPU: i5-2500k
RAM: Vengeance Low Profile 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)
PSU: OCZ Z Series 1000 W Power Supply
GPU: IGP on the i5-2500k for now, SLI 560TI 2GB later
HSF: cooler master Hyper 212+
MB: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
CASE: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced for now. (Too expensive, will start using Antec Three Hundred (not Illusion))
LCD: ?
I do not have a very discerning eye for photographs/pictures on a screen so an average quality "office grade" monitor would suffice I guess.
NO fancy addons - just need a long lasting, reliable monitor that can:
0. Have LED backlight (I read it has more life than anything else available right now)
1. Handle direct digital input (not VGA! DVI-D/I, HDMI etc OK)
2. Available from most B&M stores *or* have free return shipping if it turns out to be faulty (don't wanna pay $30+ to ship back a $200 monitor)
To give you an idea of what I like, here are two models that appealed to me:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236112
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009261
Target usage:
0. Coding and reading webpages - preferably upto 6 feet away
1. Gaming (HL2/DOOM3,4/Crysis2/Dirt2/BF3)
2. Watching DVDs
I would like to buy one or even two of these - am open for deals for a BOGO or discount on two or more items and things like that.
Open to getting 3 if I find a real good deal (say $400 to $450 for all three before tax)
Keep in mind:
0. I am in CA. Would like to avoid that recycliing fee if possible.
1. My MB has DVI and HDMI ports. This means that to have a dual monitor setup, I need to have a monitor with both DVI and HDMI port.
