Recommendations on possible 2.0 speaker setup.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a cheap ($100 or under) 2.0 setup I could get, that would replace the speakers in my Sharp LCD TV.

I'm open to DIY setups (I build tube guitar amps) and used.

The TV has two RCA outputs for L and R channels and an optical output. It looks like I can control the level of the output signal, so I wouldn't necessarily need a remote for the amp/speakers (to control their volume).

You could buy a used receiver and some basic bookshelfs from bestbuy or somewhere for around that. The insiginia receivers are like $50-60 at best buy on sale/clearance and their 6.5" bookshelfs are like $50 on sale.

You think those would be an upgrade or more of a side-grade?

definately an upgrade from your tv's built in speakers. the insignia bookshelves are nice, and with a few simple mods can be made to sound pretty good.
