Recommendations on an enclosure?

I jumped on one of those 300GB Seagate 7200.8s from ATHD.

However, most of the enclosures I've found only support 250GB max, which rules a lot of them out. Vantec has several which have recieved favorable reviews but I am wondering if there are any others out there which deliver good performance at a good price.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I also just picked up a Seagate 300 from outpost.

I've been seriously looking at enclosures for several months and have decided to go with Vantec's new Nexstar 3. On the downside, the Nexstar 3 dropped the Firewire support that the Nexstar 2 offered but for my purposes I can live without it. It's well designed and built, it looks superb and from the reviews I've read, performance is on par with anything else out there.

At this point I don't think I could settle for anything less. For $39.99 you'll be hard pressed to find a better (and better looking) enclosure.

A lot of folks here like the Bytecc drive enclosures. I don't think there is any particular limit to them. It's just that these huge drives are a recent phenomenon and the spec sheets for the boxes were printed before they were commonly available. Each enclosure brand at newegg usually has a manufacturers link in the complete description page. Check their FAQ re. large drives.
