Recommendations on a 50" TV - Plasma / LCD / LED

I'm in the market for a new TV. My current 36" tube TV still works, but I got connected with FIOS and HD so I need a new TV.

I've been looking at Samsung PN50B860 Plasma. Its a 50" diagonal. I have width limit maximum of 52" from side to side where the TV would sit. This unit is almost at 49" so it would fit into that spot.

I've also noticed new LED TV's, but they are running several hundred dollars more than a Plasma. I'm also concerned with the quality of unit, as I've read the post about cap issues with the Samsung unless they have rectified the issue with their recent releases for 2010.

What about Sony's, Panasonic, and Vizio lines?

I have a 3 year old Vizio plasma that is going strong and still looks great.

I've seen local deals in my area for Samsung 1080p 50" Plasma's for $777. Doubt you can find an LCD or LED back lit LCD (aka LED) for that price.

Some current gen Samsungs hum.

If your going with Plasma (my personal preference and the choice is personal preference) you need to figure out if you prefer better color reproduction or blacks. I prefer blacks so Panasonic is the way to go. IF you want better color reproduction go Samsung. Don't consider any otherb rand right now if your looking for the top quality in Plasma. Otherwise just buy a vizio for a cheapy tv.
