Recommendations of Earbuds

Topic says it all. Basically anything under $50 is reasonable for me.

Oh yeah, I need a recommendation on where to GET them too 😛
Everywhere I can think of offers jack..........

the sennheiser mx500's? you can get them for under $20 i think, and i've heard they rival sony's that cost much more.

Bump!

I'm wondering what to get, I'm about to go to Target. They certainly don't carry Senns, do they?

I was just thinking of getting some fairly cheap Sonys, mostly to listen to the news while I'm on my bike (not loud music, too dangerous while riding). I have other phones that are OK for music, so they don't need to be wonderful, just not crappy. I'll get Senns if Target has them, but if they don't. . .

Anything I really should avoid? Anything else I need to know?

Last bump, Anyone? I'm ready to ride tonight. I want to go at least 24 miles, to push my odometer up over 100 miles.

EDIT: Oh well, I'll just get some Sonys and expect the mediocre, but hope for the best. Wish me luck!

I hate to sound like your mother, but riding with headphones is really dangerous, and illegal in most places. As for recommendations, do NOT buy the Koss model with acorn-shaped, replaceable foam pads - they are the WORST, and constantly fall out with any motion at all - I tried them for one workout and threw them away after forgetting to return them for a few weeks.

"Hey Kids, I'm back in the Headroom,
the place to go that makes learning fun!"

I have some Sony 888 (LP) buds and I think they're awesome. They cost me $60 bones but was well-worth it in my opinion. Of course these also aren't for working out with--I use el cheapo Sennheiser MX400s for that. The Sony's are just for when I'm on the go (or watching DVDs on my laptop, etc.).

The folks at Headwize know their sh!t... That's where I got the recommendation on the 888s and they've lived up to the hype (IMHO).

I don't have earbuds, but I've heard that the Nudes by Sony are good. I don't know from personal experience, though, and I'm not sure on their price.

Well, I'm back. I did 28 miles. Minneapolis is an awesome city for biking (I dipped into St. Paul for a few minutes too). The bike paths on the parkways are the way to go.

I rode to the new downtown Target, U-locked my bike to a parking meter (I didn't pay 🙂 ), and got some Sony MDRE828 earbuds (that's what the receipt says, I threw the pkg away) for 12.99 + tax and they turned out to be perfect for my use, which was listening to the news on my AM/FM Walkman at a low volume. They didn't fall out or anything, and the price was right. They sounded alright when I tuned in some music, too. They weren't wonderful, but they were certainly acceptable with the radio.

I understand that it can be dangerous to ride with headphones, but while I was riding, I was listening to talk only, and at a volume much lower than I would use to listen to music. I was able to hear traffic and other sounds just fine.

I may talk trash about Sony, but I really think they have a niche in the upper-low end market. I wouldn't buy something major from them, but for portable radios, boomboxes, headphones, stuff like that that's under $100, they have a decent price/performance ratio. The only thing I don't like about the brand is its poor reliability.

EDIT: oh, I almost forgot, thanks to everyone who replied. 🙂
