In General Hardware there is a guide for how people should ask for input.
Given some of the heated debate which can occur here, especially when people don't give their specs/intended use for the card etc, maybe it would be good to have something similar for the video card forum?
E.g.:
Intended resolution
Country of purchase + budget
CPU
Primary games to be played
Intended life of card (1 year, 2 years etc)
Whether they might want to SLI/Crossfire in the future / what motherboard they have
Operating system (e.g. NV wins on Linux)
Whether they intend to do non-gaming activities.
