It looks as if the time has come. My nForce2 board is starting to show some problems. I'm currently running an Asus A7N8X w/ xp 2800+, 1Gb pc3200, Bfgtech 6800 GT OC, and two Seagate 160Gb(ide). I would like a mb w/ onboard sound, lan, and a couple usb 2.0 ports. I was thinking about an nForce4 based board. I need recomendations for mb,cpu, gpu(nvidia),hd's,ram. Dual boot Debian/WinXP pro.

I'd like to recommend amd, but the new e6300 is a better deal overall. Fry's electronics is selling the bare cpu with ecs board for $149 today. You can use the board for a spare, and get something decent. They also have the 7600gt for $99 after rebate. I can't recommend a better board, but the 965 Intel chipset is the best value with a gigabyte or ecs brand. Don't forget the power supply. A 450 watt heavy duty (4-5 lbs) is the minimum for any dual core setup. Enermax and antec are good values, and seasonic and pc power and cooling are the best.
