Recommendations for Speakers

Finally decided to upgrade from my laptop speakers to something external. What would be my best bet. I know the title says <$200, but less would be best.

I would say get a cheap pair of 2.1s for the subwoofer and get a good pair of headphones. Audiotechnica, Sennheiser, and Grado are good brands to look at.

i'm very happy with my z2300s (logitech), and at certain times you can get them for cheap... them plus a set of decent headphones, or spend the extra money on some more memory or something.

Klipsch iFi for $200. Heads and tails above anything listed so far within $200.

The iFi was originally $399. The two RSX-3 satellites retail for $300 alone, plus you get an ipod dock and a 8" cerametalic subwoofer. The upper mid hole (100-120hz) would be significantly less pronounced than the papercone 3" fullrange drivers Logitechs use, or even the 2.1 Promedias. Pretty much what I would recommend to anyone who wanted to listen to music but only wanted PC speakers.
