I am looking to automatically remove punch holes from scanned documents (preferably from PDF, although I will consider other options).

I have thousands of pages of scanned documents that all have punch holes in. I know about the Acrobat redact tool, however this is too time consuming to use. I am looking for an automatic solution. The holes are often in different places, so a basic crop won't work. I know such software exists, as some scanners ship with this feature to intelligently identify punch holes and remove them, however I used a ScanSnap ix500 which does not come with such software.

I am open to free or paid software. My priority is just to get something that works well.

Can anyone recommend any software?

Thanks I had a look at that one before, but it appears to be designed for software developers to integrate it into their product. It's not really font line software.
