Anyone who owns (has owned) at Canon T3i (or similar) camera please recommend a smaller case/bag for travelling, something that not only protects the camera but is "smaller" and does not take up a lot of room in a backpack.

Thank you ....

I just got a T3 a few weeks ago, and bought the Canon backpack - http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...=1838860&acd=spla_pl_dhsea:028083,,901pdb6671

With 3 lenses and all the various equipment, the bag is nice, but I still have alot of room in it, especially the outer pockets, which I stuff with dry food and other camping things. I then attach the backpack to my camping backpack, or stuff it in a waterproof bag and put it in my larger backpack (old style Army duffle-backpack modified).

As a bag itself, it might be too big for what you want... I find myself taking it with me, then carrying a spare lens in a cargo pocket, and leaving the backpack in the car when I go out to the metroparks. Been interested in a smaller pack for those outings.

Think Tank Digital Holster 10. I've got the 20 model myself, and I love it for my 5D and whatever lens I have attached to it at the time. The 5D is a lot bigger than a Rebel, which is more suited to the 10.

It is super well made and designed. it has extra pockets for batteries, memory cards, etc. A decent shoulder strap plus a nice belt attachment point. But it's also very minimalist and can't get much smaller for what it does. It's a snug fit and perfect for throwing inside a larger bag of some sort, adding protection without much added bulk.

I bought the Lowepro AW40 Pro and I also own the AW40 for my 40D gripped. My camera's quite big which is why I got this but the small versions should be just fine.
