recommendations for image (backup) software?

I'm looking for programs similar to norton ghost, that I can burn a backup dvd with a usb dvd drive, and then ghost the image to another computer via the same usb dvd drive. Any suggestions on decent programs that can do this? I haven't used norton ghost since before usb, so I don't know as much about it as i'd like to

That's a excellent deal for the software. I used to be a Norton Ghost user, but switched to True Image recently.

ordered true image, and am testing it out, but it won't burn to DVD's for some reason...anyone have this problem

Does it not recognize your DVD burner, or are you getting a error during the image burn?

If it's the latter, you might try using a different brand of media and/or burning at a lower speed.

It's a memorex usb burner, and the computer does see it (win98 system), but calls it an "audio cd" even though it's a dvd. I've tried burning an image with both a blank dvd and a blank cd with the same result: "Failed to write data to the image archive file. A possible reason might be poor media quality." I've checked the options menu for burn media/speed, but the only thing in true image's options is font...Where do I go to check media properties?

i read through the true image user's guide, and it says that in order to burn an image to DVD, you have to format the dvd first, then do the image. The software that came with my external burner is nero express....how do I format a disc with nero express?  Is there a better free program i should use?

tried to get arconis to work for 3 days (not counting time spent on the weekend). gave up. moving to ghost
