Hi,

I'm looking for a device that is able to display digital pictures. The catch is that it has to be on a relatively large screen (maybe ~30-40 inches) and I would like to hang it on my wall.

I've tried researching for such a device but have had no luck. I know that there are digital picture frames but most are small (under 10 inch screens). I haven't found any has the size I'm looking for and is around the $3000 range.

Ideally, I would also like the device to be network capable so I can upload pictures to a server and then display them on the screen. But, if this is not possible, then it should at least have USB so I can transport any .jpegs or .bmp files over to it via a flash drive.

Does anyone have any suggestions or have they ever encountered something similar to this? I mean as an alternative, I was looking to purchase a large flatscreen monitor and then hook it up with a computer. But that seems to be overkill for something that is something to show only slideshows.

At that size I can only suggest a cheap 30-40 LCD TV and a very small computer, such as a mac mini or even an eee PC hidden away to provide images.

Others may have different ideas, though.

There are a fair amount of flatscreen TVs with built-in flash readers and USB ports. However, I wouldn't expect to be able to transfer anything "over" to the display as I'm not aware of any that have internal memory for that sort of thing. SD cards and flash drives are plenty large enough now that it shouldn't be an issue though. Seems to me that one of these screens would be your best bet. You can pick up a 30-40 in. model for <$1000.
