Recommendations for Core 2 duo mATX Mobo

I'm specing out a new build around the core 2 duo E6600 processor and would like to use a mATX mobo to keep the box as small as possible. Main uses will be large batch DSLR photo editing, high def video editing, and some gaming on the side. Can anyone suggest the quality motherboards for this application? I haven't built a rig in several years, and can't keep track of all of the differnt chipsets and memory speeds and whatnot. Thanks very much for your suggestions.

I wouldn't stick to mATX because: More internal space will let you have more drives, better cooling, workspace, and give you a better selection of performance motherboards.

I've been eyeing an Intel line myself, mainly to get the combination of on-board video, Intel SATA RAID, and Intel GbE -- the Q965. E.g.

Problem is, my wife got used to the old rig's size (a SFF Shuttle SN25P) and I'm sure she won't like a large ATX box as its replacement. Also, I'd prefer not to have to pay the price premium for another Shuttle SFF, if there even is a good offering at the current time.
