Gonna build a new system and could use a push in the right direction. Not necessarily on a budget.

Thanks,

I'm going to go ahead and vote for the Abit NF7-S. I'm biased but justifiably so.

I thought only 939 and 940 boards supported Dual Channel RAM. Maybe I'm getting terminology confused?

Yep. IMO, the best choice for the XP right now is the NF7-S. Newegg has it for $85 shipped now too.

He's talking about the normal Athlon XP's (Bartons), not the Athlon 64/FX. The nForce 2 Ultra 400 chipset utilizes dual channel DDR.

Nah. I have a 2.4C on a IS7 @ 3.3Ghz, 1.1Ghz FSB, and I honestly can't tell the difference between it and my XP-M 2600+ @ 2.5Ghz, 400mhz FSB (1.65v). I'm sure the A64's are faster, but I can wait for the 939's to be through a core revision, overclock better, and be cheaper say around late fall/winter. I haven't encountered anything yet that has made me feel the need for an upgrade sooner...
