Recommendations for a WiFi Range Extender

I have the Netgear WNDR 3700 wireless router. No problems at all, except for a slightly reduced signal in one corner of the house. I'm wondering if a range extender will help? Never used one before. Are they hype or legit?
Some recommendations, please. Thank you.

Yes, getting a range extender would help a lot!!!

I have the Amped Wireless SR20000G and it's really good. I get all 5 bars in my house and I can stream youtube vids with not much problems about 150 ft away from it. It even has 5 wired ports to connect wired devices to have a remote switch... alos has a usb port too.

Legit? Of course they are legit.

Hype? No body seriously Hypes them because they are the solution of last resort.

1. They cut the Bandwidth into half.

2. Many times they would not work with certain source Wireless Router.

3. The ready made Extender (repeater) units are over priced

4. Their good use is rather limited to specific environmental layout.
