recommendations for a USB CD-RW?

i tried sticking an IDE burner in a firewire enclosure but CDRWIN won't recognize it. i tried using my 8x20 imation/plextor in a scsi enclosure but its performance was erratic, and the fastest i could get (if at all) was 4x. so now i'm considering a USB burner.

can anyone recommend any brands/models? the programs i use for burning are easy cd creator pro for music discs and cloneCD and CDRWIN for data ones. are there ANY USB CD-RW's that support cloneCD?

I'd heard good things about Iomega's Predator drive, and that has USB 1.1, USB 2.0, and Firewire interfaces. You might want to check around, places like StorageReview and USBStuff to see what people have written about it, but if it performs as well as it looks, you'd set. If I had money, I'd buy it just for how cool it looks, alas, no cash....

Sony 6x4x4 works fine for me on desktop and laptop. For software, I always use Nero. Win2k loads working driver for the CDRW.
