I am about to build a quiet! system, it is supposed to be used in a music studio, so the more quiet the better.
I was looking to vid cards without a fan. Not sure which ones have very good 2D and no fan?
Does Matrox Millenium cards have fan?
What else can be used? Recommendations ?
Thanks.

the Radeon VE and Radeon LE don't have fans, I am pretty sure the Matrox cards don't either. I think pretty much all Nvidia cards have fans unless you go back to like TNT2, maybe Geforce 1?

One alternative is to run a GF3Ti200 with a fan unplugged. It won't be a problem since the reference Ti200 card isn't equipped with a fan.

I'm also looking for a quiet card with good 2D quality. A card with B-Orb may also be a viable option since B-Orb is rated at 26 dB.

Hercules Ti200/500 may have a B-Orb but I'm not sure they have a good 2D quality.

I thought Gainward GF3 original had a quiet fan, but this is not confirmed.

Elsa's Ti200/500 has a B-Orb, but it will not be available in the U.S.

Most of the actively cooled video cards are high performance 3D gamers cards. If you dont need that kind of functionality, there are plenty of passively cooled cards around.

Thanks for responses, Radeon looks quite good (I dislike the Matrox somehow, despite so many good words about good 2D, in my opinion Voodo's and ATI have better 2D, in fact), gives a good chance to use it for occasional DVD watching as well.
