i am leaning toward abit at the moment. but there is one thing i am not clear about. the specifications for some of the abit motherboard i looked at showed that it supports cel up to 533. but it supports pentium 3 up to 800 MHZ
http://computing.techsumer.com/product.phtml?pid=HDABITVT6&r_scatid=443
does that mean that i always should look for motherboard that can run at the speed i want? or just the speed of the processor, and then o/c it?
with the celeron i want to be able to o/c it near 850 MHZ like most of you guys here are doing. please help. i am building this comp as a gift to my sis when she returns to school. appreciate any help.

What it means is that if the motherboard supports the Celeron at 533, it means that it can support the newest CPUs, because it was printed a little earlier, and just because the MHz rating is lower than your CPU's, it doesn't matter as long as the CPU's are the same type (Athlon, Celeron, Celeron II, P3, Coppermine, etc.)
