Recommendations for a dual HDD capable laptop?

I'm looking for my next laptop to have dual HD support for a SSD (not mSSD) and a HDD. I was set on an Asus GSX series a few months ago but the new GVW switched from SSD to mSSD support only.

Price is also an issue as I was looking to spend $1000 and under but the prices seem to be around $1200-1400 now. Any ideas for what other manufacturers to look at with dual HDD support?
 
In my laptop, I rarely use the DVD drive.
So I purchased an inexpensive caddy that permits a 2.5 in hard disk to slide into the slot where the DVD was. The DVD pops out easily.
My boot drive in the laptop is a smallish SSD. The DVD slot drive is 250GB.
When I need the DVD, it's a 30 second swap.

I think this can be done on most any laptop.
The distributor for the caddy is in Orange County, CA.
