Recommendations for a 26" LCD TV?

I am looking for a smaller LCD to go in the bedroom for my wife and I. About 26" will be good as it will sit at the end of our bed. I am most interested in overall picture quality and decent black level. 1080 v 720 is not that important, nor is refresh rate, or amount of inputs. Any recommendations would be welcome!

I agree with sivart on the size, and with a 42" at 6 feet, you probably won't see much difference between 720p and 1080p. What's your source? What's your budget?

I would think the Panasonic TC-P42G10 would give you a really good picture and deep black levels. You can get it here for $750 shipped after using the coupon code BONUSBUY. I know you said LCD TV, but I don't think you could match the PQ and black levels of that Panasonic in that size and price range with an LCD TV.

Before I sold it, I put my 32" lcd at the on the dresser a couple feet from the foot of the bed and it seemed quite big to both of us. We both thought a 26" would be a better fit.

Sorry guys, a 42" is out of the question. Especially not when I have a 40" in the living room. And I assure you, that one is perfectly visible at even 8 ft. away. 🙂 I MIGHT consider a 32", but I honestly think a 26" will be a better fit in our bedroom. It's not like it will be invisible. I've got to keep the cost down under $400 anyway.

Main contenders as of now that I'm looking at are:
- VIZIO VL260M
- Samsung LN26B460
- possibly Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-26L5000 but this is really more than I want to spend.

There's actually not a huge difference in price between a 26" and 32" TV, even though the 32" is 52% larger. For example, I bought this TV last week for $380 shipped off of Amazon. I just got it today, and it should make for a really nice computer monitor with its low input lag and IPS panel. You can spend even less than that on a 32" since you won't need 1080p at your viewing distance.

It seems like you won't go for it, but if I were you, I'd bump my budget up to $750 and try to find a 50" plasma for that price. You can get a nice upgrade in the livingroom and move the 40" to the bedroom. Porn will have a much bigger impact on a 40" than a 26" :awe:
