Recommendation On Where To Learn Linux Online (if there is)

Hello all, I want to learn linux online, is there a place where I can learn Linux and how to use it online? I'm a total newbie to linux, is there some knowledge that's required before I learn about linux? Appreciate any suggestions.

Getting a shell account (basically, a login to someone's *nix machine -- with limited access and rights) is cheap (from free to $10-15/mo tops) and a good way to start learning basic *nix stuff. With most, you can run a cron job or two, install some apps, get a feel for the system in general, just by telnetting in.

Ladi: Thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking about actually messing with linux, but not by signing up an account. My friend has this little cd that has basic of linux, and he can run linux from the cd. So I can ask him to get me a copy of it. He has has other linux cds that I can borrow from. 😎
