Recommendation on a receiver with Airplay support

I'm looking to buy a new receiver. It's been many years since I've been on the market and I'm no longer up-to-date on what brands and products are best. My criteria is pretty simple: I want it to support Airplay and to cost between $500 and $1,000. Any advice on what one to focus my attention on is greatly appreciated!

I just love my Denon. I have experiance with that, my Onkyo, and my close friend's Yamaha.

I don't like how the Yamaha handled auto-calibration (I don't even thing he got a mic with his he had to borrow mine) so that is out. Auto calibration features are the best parts of modern amps.

Between the Onkyo and the Denon, I feel the Denon provides better value (usually will have a better version of Audyssey for the same price) but the Onkyo has warmer sound (which could be good or bad) and better onscreen menus.

I completely agree with the above. I have a Denon now and love the bang for the buck I got with it. I had a Pioneer before and the auto-calibration was no where near as good as the Audyssey.

I recommend the same Denon. Audyssey MultEQ XT is an awesome feature. Only reason to get something else is if you need more power for a big room, inefficient speakers, etc. What's your setup?

Another +1 for the Denon. Plus you might be able to get it for a bit less if you're willing to call an authorized dealer and haggle a bit. Check avsforums.com as there is often some discussion about who you might want to call (but I would stick with an authorized reseller so you don't screw yourself out of a warranty).

Denon or Yamaha, I've owned both a like both. I'd go with Denon due to the better room correction software.

Sony STR-DN1040 is what I have and supports airplay. Also has 8 HDMI inputs with 2 out, 4k upscaling support, wifi(denon X2000 doesn't have it), bluetooth(denon also doesn't have it). Cheaper than the Denon and I prefer the minimalist front design vs the Denon.
