Recommendation letters

hi

I live in India, and am looking at graduate studies in the US, I learn that Recommendation Letters from faculty members are very important and I was wondering if you guys could help me with it? I am not sure what it should contain and how it should be drafted. A sample letter would be a great help and appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

P.S. I did search on Google but I couldn't find any sample letters

Speak to your professor/instructor he will help you out. You can also call the school where you wish to apply and find out if they recommend those letters.

edit: spelling

thanx for your replies, I did speak to my college faculty and they wanted a draft sample. Chiwawa thanks for your reply, but I was looking at a more general letter of recommendation.
