Hi guys.
I know many of you guys use SCSI and IDE hybrid storage sloution and I'd like your input. I'm in the midst of getting some parts for a dualie rig and running into a bit of dillema in picking out a mainboard, because of this *possible* issue...
The OS (W2K) and apps will be run on WD Enterprise 10K SCSI with 2940U2W controller. I also have a 80G & 60G IDE drives that I want to use as my storage (the 60G already has about 40G worth of mp3's... ).
I'm also going to oc my system, most likely 2 700's @1ghz...
All of these requirements point me toward to Abit VP6... But I really don't like (& unsure) to have that onboard RAID... (or any other boards with separate onboard IDE controllers) Can this be turned off completely?
If I use BOTH SCSI & IDE controllers (2 mass storage controllers), would I run into any problems?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
