suddenly decided that my case setup with 1 side intake, 1 fan-out at the top and back and a blower at the back under the gfx card [along with the enermax psu fan out] is not good enough for airflow and that i shoudl have an intake fan at the front both to balance the outs and also to get more cool air blowing across the components.
the fans at the moment are all 80mm panaflo l1as and i want a quiet 120mm fan at the front too so what should i get

if any replies are from the UK then a source would also be appreciated!
Thanks

I'm pretty happy with my Evercool Aluminum 120mm. Don't know where to get it in the UK, but it's a standard brand, shouldn't be too hard.

Panaflos are tough to get in the UK so I won't suggest that. The Papst 4412 is good, as is the adjustable Enermax. If you can wait a few weeks, the new Nexus "Real Quiet" (or "Real Silent", I can never remember) 120mm should be available and if it's near as good as their 80mm version it will be the 120mm to beat.

i cartainly can wait!
i agree with the availability of panaflos - i got mine from canada when my wife was last there...[still not as cheap as the US though:(]
i note someone on ebay now has a system setup to import panaflos to order at £4.99 a pop....

the need for the 120mm isnt urgent so i would prefer to wait, get advice like this and be happy with a "silent" product
thanks

Vantec Stealth is good - trying to throw diversity out there.

i watned a 120mm Panaflo but i couldn't find one, so i ended up with a Vantec Stealth.

i got the impression that the 120mm panaflos were no where near as good as they 80mm L1a anyway - is that true?

The panaflo 120's are 38mm thick, and may not fit in all cases in the front, so watch what you buy.

Otherwise the panaflo and vantec stealth are both good.

I just set up a Sonata case this weekend, and for sh!ts and giggles I swapped the included Antec fan out with a Vantec stealth I forgot I had laying around (bought it way back being stupid and ordering the wrong size for the last case). Anyhow, using the fan speed controller I also bought when I got the case, I can tell you for certain that the Vantec is quieter. HOWEVER - it also seems to be able to go to a lower RPM as well, so... not sure what my point is I guess ;) just type-happy tonight. Hope that helped somewhat.

I've got two and only have one problem with them. Both tend to pin-wheel a little at start-up.
