Hi-

Recently I've been getting into the idea of building my own computer. Being a scientist I like to (obsessively) research my project before moving forward. I found anandtech and it seems like a great source of information. I've also checked out silentpcreview. Can you guys/girls recommend another 1 or 2 good forums for me to gather information? The reason I like to check multiple sources is each forum has its own character--its own set of preferences and dislikes and so forth. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thanks!

Matt

Hardforums, arstechnica, 2cpu.com, overclockers.com - definitely a bunch more too!

I know what you're thinking - I'm getting the same feeling too.

I suggest you also compare the info you get from the various forums, to that listed in other forms of media. Namely speaking, a magazine - like MaximumPC or PC Modder.
I've found looking through the info/reviews in those first usually gives me more of an idea of what I'll be looking for in various forums (making it easier and quicker to get the info I'm looking for) and helps solidify my decision quicker. Though generally I use them as on-hand references for my friends, since they aren't into all of the tech-garble and it makes them feel more comfortable when actually going to buy something (since 'the magazine said it was good' :p ).

Thanks for the recommendations. I checked out hardforums.com and it seems pretty good. AT is my favorite although since I'm building an HTPC, spcr.com has some great silent computing info.

What does QFT mean?
