hey my compex router died on me and I don't have my reciept and the RMA form states that I need a copy of my receipt to do a RMA so I think I need to buy a new one.

What is a good cheap homepna router/bridge. The compex was good but it did run HOT like the reviews says and I think the summer heat and hot room burned it up...

what do you guys recommend?

Consider checking out ebay for better prices. Also, keep in mind that instead of buying a combo unit, you can buy a router that you then hook up to a hpna/ethernet bridge. Some options:

Routers:
* Netgear rp334. The best, but also pretty expensive ($200 if you are lucky)
* Linksys hpro200. Some people really like, others have complained about.
* 2wire homeportal 100. You can find these pretty cheap ($80-$100) on Ebay. Has some esoteric options, e.g. usb connection, that might occasionally be handy. Meant to be super user-friendly -- it needs to be, because the online and phone tech support is horrendous in my experience. Older versions have limits on how much you can upgrade the firmware, which may or may not matter to you. There is also a 100W model that adds wireless.

HPNA/Ethernet bridges:
* Netgear PE102. Good, but a little expensive, close to $100 typically on ebay but sometimes cheaper. I beleive it has been discontinued so you may have trouble finding it in stores.
* Linksys hpb200.
