Recommendation for Most Quiet Full Tower

I'm looking to a new build that will need to house at least 6 SATA hard drives and air-cooled overclocked quad-core.

So, what's a full-tower case out there that can still be maintained quiet but provide adequate air-cooling?

Any models I should look into?

Enermax Uber Chakra or XClio Windtunnel. The Windtunnel will be quieter due to the door. And you will have to choose your CPU cooler to complement (not fight against) the big fans. The Tt Eureka would be another option. The Silverstone Temjin 5 might be another.

I like the looks on that Xclio windtunnel. just bothers me about it becoming a dust bin like the antec 900.....all those big fans but no filter.

what's the deal with the temjin 5 having 80mm as options. a bit noisy for an option to me at least.

Look into the Lian-Li PC-101 or V1100. Both are extremely quiet. I tend to find the PC-101 has slightly better cooling capabilities and its the cheaper of the 2. This is because the 101 has vents on the side of the door, while the V1100 has vents hidden underneath and the door is sealed. However the V1100 is quieter by a pinch. Overall I recommend the PC-101 though.

You will likely need slightly longer SATA cables than come with your mobo if you use either though. Also avoid ultra-long and modular power supply's with either. As they HDD/PSU chamber is only really long enough for a normal PS. I found the Seasonic S12 Energy Plus PSU's are a perfect fit and very good quality + power for a build like this.

Also If you really want to stay cool, take a PC-101 and add a 3x5.25 Inch Bay to 120MM Fan Adapter fan adapter. With this the case is is amazingly quiet and cool. Since it vents the air in through the sides of the door, and it has a filter on it. Plus the HDD chamber has a dedicated 120mm fan for the 6 Hard drives.

Great suggestions.

Right now, I'm going to focus my 'research' on PC-101 and Aurora 570.

Thoughts?

CM STacker will pwn all the cases listed in holding capacity. And it wont break your wallet like the LL will.

Another full tower to look at is the TT Armor. Tons of room for everything you need.

See for yourself how much can fit inside

Hehe... if i can shove all my h2o gear inside the stacker, and have room for 12 drives, There is no way it cant fit all you need when your on AIR. :p

Both the armor and stacker are 11 bay cases. The armor weights a grip tho. But its built hella strong.

I forgot to mention. The stacker T01 has dual PSU support, and also comes with a dual PSU ADAPTER. So its ready to go if you have a spare PSU laying around. :D

Krotchy or any other Lian Li PC101 user -

I've been looking at the Lian Li PC101 (along with other mid-towers with doors). How are you temps in the case? Are you running the rear fan as an intake to the cpu as it was designed? I've heard of people reversing the flow (which really forces you to find another way to add an intake fan to balance the airflow). Appreciate any of your thoughts on this.

I have the aurora 570, it is a really nice case. One bad thing I noticed is that when I put the acrylic panel in the side in place of the mesh the case temps inside rose considerably. The sidesaddle HD bays are blocking a lot of airflow. But just leave the mesh on the side, and everything is fine.

Oh yeah, the screwless thing for the expansion cards doesn't work too well (really, what one does?) but you can just remove it and use screws.
