ok , read some reviews, I am impressed.

My next question is, Is it fairly easy to install myself? do I have to remove the mobo? that sound a bit scarely to me.

I have Intel P4 with 478 socket.

its not too bad...you should be able to get it in without removing the mobo.

Zalman 7000a-cu or 7000a-alcu works nicely also. If you want to go thermalright get the sp-94 (new version of the slk that performs better).

you cant really install the bracket behind the motherboard without removing the motherboard cuz you have to line it up and well.. it doesnt really fit with the motherboard locked down. Take a look at the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu(very quiet) . I just got one today and it has the same performance of my SLK900U(with 119cfm vantec tornado, loud loud loud) and it was MUCH easier install than the slk. took me about 40mins to install the slk (god.. i want to shoot the guy who decided to have the USB cable as like 15 single wire leads instead of one nice block) and the zalman took about 5 and i didnt have to remove my motherboard like i did with the slk. Sweet as pie.

Isn't there versions of the SLK 900? One that screws into the mobo and the other snaps into place?

Other than, just get a Fan with 30 + CFM for air flow and use the metal braces to secure it on the heat sink.

ok, it looks like Zalman CNPS 7000 is the way to go. Uninstall the mobo is too much of risk for me. Where Can I get good deal on line?

Zalman Zalman CNPS6500B-Cu Cooler or CNPS 7000? which is better choice for my P4 3.0, both are in same price range.

7000 for sure. It's a big step up from the 6500.

Just sharing this info. with everyone. Got the email reply from Thermalright tech. support, For those who does not travel with their computer all the time ,The SLK-900 can be mounted on the motherboard on the existing P4 478 socket with provided clips. I had cancelled my order for Zalman CNPS7000 and going for Thermalright SP-94. My only trouble now is, I cannot seem to find the place that carry them? Anyone know if Thermalright is made in Taiwan? My cusin is visiting me from Taiwan, maybe I will just have him bring me one.
