I'm looking to spend under $700 (obviously less is better) for an entire setup (software (I use a PC), tripod, camera or videocam, and microphone if required) to make HD videos of the results of these pastry classes I'm paying a fortune to take.
I'm not looking to make any money off my videos, I just want to document the steps for the products I'm learning to make in the Pastry class I'm taking and then do some minor editing (cut, fast forward, reverse, sound overlay, maybe blur some things that should be in the video if I don't have to pay extra for this feature) and then upload to youtube so I can remember how to do this stuff after my classes over and I have to make something for my friends and family.
I'll be filming indoors by myself, but I'm not going to have professional lighting so low light performance should be considered.
I don't know much about color balance, but would prefer not to have the video look washed out. I'm not looking for professional quality, but would prefer for a normal person not to have complaints about the video.
A big issue I have with amateur youtube videos where they teach you to make food stuff is that a lot of the really talented home chefs make these low quality grainy videos with washed out color. I would prefer not to make a garbage looking video.
