Recommendation for a video converting software

Hello, I need a recommendation for a video converting software which can keep the file timestamp of the original file. Please note I mean the timestamp of the file, not the ongoing timestamp during the video play. Basically I record short videos for my daughter with my phone and cameras. The files are huge so I want to convert them to h264. But all the software that I've found so far does not offer an option to keep the timestamp of the original file. Does anybody know a software which can do that? Thanks in advance.

I just installed and tried it, but don't see such an option. What I really want is to preserve the same creation date and time of the original video in the converted video file.

Probably have to copy the timestamp afterwards with some file manager or dedicated proggy.

I'll have to check into this. I've been using AVS video converter for years, but am looking to switch to something better. AVS works great, but it when converting video files encoded in AC3, surround, DTS...etc it re-encodes the audio in stereo, which is not acceptable.

Try using filedate. I've used it many times over the years and it has always worked.

This is definitely the most robust, but by no stretch of the imagination is it the easiest to use.

FormatFactory has worked well for my needs for many years. It's very easy to use, supports all of the most popular file types, and I've never had any conversion errors.
