Recommendation for a laptop??

Can anyone recommend an entry level laptop? I don't need anything powerful, just something that gets the job done.
I just want it to be slim and light. Something around the range of sony's superslim pro laptop.

Budget is $2000 tops.

Thanks.

well my suggestion is to buy ANY business class laptop. They have best support than any other home-user products.
For example, Compaq's Armada Line, Dell's Latitude, HP's Omnibook (Not All) etc etc. make sure you have at least 3 year warranty on it 🙂

I highly suggest Toshiba. My friend had one for about a year and I finally got one myself... awesome machine... Go with a Satellite Pro (very affordable) or a Tecra (if you can afford it)

The IBM Store at Ebay has some sweet deals. All brand new straight from IBM shipped free 2 days.

Someone at the company got a IBM Thinkpad A21m. 850Mhz P3, 64MB SDRAM (added 256 from Crucial) 20GB HDD, 8MB ATI Rage Mobility, 14.1" TFT, DVD-ROM, Ethernet, 56K Modem, Win98SE for $1200

My brother managed the get the only 900Mhz w/ 128MB SDRAM, 32GB HDD, and the above for $1375.

Check it out

Well ViperSSD, you just met one.
I used to have a Toshiba Portege 3480ct, within a month the screen hinge broke and the harddrive is choked with bad sectors, and as if the problem is not enough... the mouse drifts all the time. I had toshiba fixed it but it took a month to get it done. Next time if i need to buy toshiba i'd get the tecra series.
