I am looking for a good GPS to use with my laptop while wardriving. Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations? Of course, it needs to be able to connect to my laptop via USB, but that seems to be a fairly common option now. I would like to keep it under $200 if possible, but will be willing to pay up to $300.

What is wardriving?

Driving around sniffing for wireless access points. Not hacking networks, just documenting locations for me.

So then what do you do once you find the places?

You can import the data into Map Point. I am trying to get a contract with my city to provide wireless inet access, and if I could physically show them how many wireless networks are currently out there, they will probably be more receptive to the idea. Plus, I also own a computer consulting company, and can contact the owners of unsecured access points and offer to secure them. I've already had a couple of takers, and I would say 75% of wireless networks are set to default security levels.
Plus I am a geek and enjoy doing stuff like that. ;)
