I'm looking for a good firewire card for ipod, which brand or model do you recommend that works well with the ipod? I see that Newegg only has one firewire card, that is USB external? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.
 
I'd look for the TI Firewire800 chipset or equiv as that way you'll be upgraded and ready for the new Gen.
 
While you're at it I'd say get a FireWire + USB 2.0 combo card. You can never have enough USB ports and you'll be using the slot anyways, so get the most out of it.
 
now days lots of mobo have 4 or 6 USB2.0 ports, but no 1394 port. I have one Ti chipset and one Via 1394 card. No difference to me.
