Are there any motherboards out for the Duron with intigrated sound and video. There are many for the Celeron. I need a cheap setup for a kids computer. Thanks. Rick.

How about a good-cheap board for a Duron for $75-100???? It just needs to be stable, not full of overclocking features. Please no $175 RAID wonder boards. R.

The ECS K7-810LM is about $88 on Pricewatch and has integrated video, sound and LAN. Look for the SIS 730 chipset.

Exactly, that's the only one that is actually available.

Watch for two things: (1) there's two flavors of that board, with and without an AGP slot; get one that has it. (2) make sure they don't charge you extra for the modem riser card, it should be included.

What you get is a MicroATX board with VGA, sound, modem, and 10/100 LAN connection all onboard. It certainly isn't a fast mainboard (how should it with the integrated VGA), but it's certainly fast enough to allow the kids to play their games in an acceptable display resolution.

People are generally happy with it, all the complaint I've seen so far is a minor software issue with the modem drivers disturbing sound replay, but new drivers seem to fix that.
