Recommend work monitor at $300-400 high resolution?

Doing CAD like work, need higher res than 1080 but also want a good quality uniform display. Color accuracy isn't as important as long as it's not bad. I know there are a bunch of 1440 maybe even 1600 res displays around this range...but I recall many originally being low grade junk. I think I would prefer to buy from some US website/retailer with a warranty.

Oh also, any flicker free options (volt control back-light vs pwm)?
Would probably prefer a nice fine grained smooth matte over glossy but not a requirement (no clumpy or aggressive matte coatings though).

Any standouts that you guys have found?

Actually, just bumped into a Dell P2715Q brand new for $450 out the door...wondering if it's worth it. Vs a theoretical $300 1440 monitor that's 50% more, but I aint found one at that price yet.

It likely is, I'd say half the price at least is going into it just being a good screen. The Dell stand is utterly fantastic and they generally have great service if there's a problem.

Why would I go for two monitors? I have a budget, can't fit two good monitors in the budget. Unless you're thinking 1080 or something...but can't fit four good 1080 monitors into the budget either. On top of all that, the screen is going to be run by a mobile workstation, so it can't run more monitors anyway.

Decided to just go for the Dell P2715Q. I wasn't expecting a good 4k to be anywhere near close enough to budget.

Question still stands, any good 1440/1600 res monitor/s around $300?

For some uses the cheap Korean overclockers are cool and good for that price. I don't really think your use is one of them.

And yeah, one high quality 4k is going to be every bit as useful as two good 1080s, and two 1440s is a bit silly to be honest, it gave me some fierce neck strain.
