Outer Banks, North Carolina.
Ive spent alot of time in Nags Head and Rodanthe, great place....
Whats wrong with amelia island? Looks nice from what I've seen online.
As for the outer banks, what is there to do. I'd rather spend my time in one place that has a lot of things to do. I'll get lost if I had to drive around in unfamiliar territory.
There is a lot to do if you like outdoor activities.
Fishing (ocean/sound/charter/pier), kayak, parasail, windsurf, swimming, beaches, rental houses, museums, lighthouses, memorials, gardens, plays, etc.
It is never crowded, always peaceful, mostly low-key. However, with the exception of a few bars, there is no nightlife. In fact, bars can't even serve liquor on the Outer Banks -- you have to import your own from the mainland

.
I've been going to the Outer Banks for years and years. I love it.
