Recommend some PS3 games for me

Well I've finally gone and picked up a PS3 since I was able to trade an old laptop I wasn't using anymore on craigslist for one. The only downside to the unit is that it's supposedly temporarily banned from PSN until September 27th although I couldn't get Sony to verify that date when I called them up. Hopefully it will be off the ban come that point in time so that I can play Dust 514 when it's released.

In any case I'm looking to expand my game collection beyond God of War III which I picked up and I'm enjoying. I'd like to know what PS3 exclusive titles are out there that I might like since I also have a 360 that still sees plenty of gametime. I have enjoyed God of War III and also enjoy games like Batman Arkham Asylum, Forza Motorsport 3, Street Fighter 4, Crackdown and GTA4.

So if you want a basic overview of the types of games I like they would be:

Action/adventure games
Some sports (I like MLB The Show 09 on my PSP)
Fighting games
Racing Sims (not entirely sure I would prefer GT5 over Forza)

I'm interested to hear what you folks would recommend.

If you liked the old Mortal Kombat games, I think you'll really enjoy the new one. Especially if you have friends to play with.

Metacritic is ok but frankly I like to hear personal recommendations rather than just a grouping. I do like the new MK though and already have it for the 360.

The Uncharted series is a seminal PS3 exclusive.

Demon's Souls is one of the best games ever made.

DC vs MK is one of the best fighting games I've ever played.

The Ninja Gaiden Sigma series is pretty good if you like Ninja Gaiden.

Ratchet and Clank just plain rock.

There are tons of threads on this already, as well as plenty of stuff to be found in a Google search. Working through the PS3 library from old to new is a great thing to do now as there are tons of good games, and they're almost all really cheap now.

Different tastes; mine, given your genre preferences, would be to suggest Enslaved and Burnout: Paradise.

Not in your genre, some good games are Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, and of course the Portal series. There are others I'd have to consider, not yet sure.
