Recommend some new TV shows for me to watch

Any type except Sci-Fi. Preferably something i can just start watching and not be totally lost. All I watch is Law & Order (all the series'), ER, Howard Stern, Crank Yankers, Survivor and Pardon the interruption.

edit (even though it is getting formulaic)
patient comes in with complex disease, they give them treatments and diagnoses, turns out to be wrong, patient almost dies, more treatments and tests,in the end they solve the problem. I just like that rapier wit that doctor has and the funny moments when he's on clinical duty.
