So I've been listening to some Guy Davis lately, what are some other blues artists that I should listen to that I would probably like?

I usually recommend navy blue, but ocean blue has a very tranquil look. I'm not much into baby blue.

damnit.

i was thinking exactly this to post.

you stole my thoughts!

i want them back!

I cannot help it if my brain works faster than yours.... 😛

Guy Davis is pretty cool. There is just so much blues material out there.

The classics is always a good place to start- Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Big Boy Cruddup, Joe Turner, etc.

I myself favor the post-war Chicago stuff (Chess/MCA especially). Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Bo Didley, Sonny Boy Williamson (II), Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry.

Then there's the late 50's/60's era classics- Ray Charles, BB King, Freddy King, Magic Sam, Albert King, Albert Collins...

Don't get me started.🙂
