Does anyone know any good card games that can be played with a standard 52 card deck and 2 people. BTW, what are the rules for Speed? I forgot.

crib is a great 2 person game, but you'll need someone to teach you.

two cards facing up in the middle side by side
5 cards faced down next to the two cards facing up
each player gets five cards that they hold and 15 cards faced down.

objection: finish your 5 + 15 cards by putting cards in the middle in numerical order

(i think)

Hehe, I'd forgotten all about war. I used to play that all the time. I think I'll play a game of it with my daughter when I get home from work tonight. What happens again when both people put out the same card?

For two players???

Deal 17 for each player instead of the whole deck. If noone has diamond 3, person with lowest card goes first.

Speed:

place 2 cards face down and 2 stacks of 5 cards faced down in the center.

Deal 20 cards to each person. Each person draws 5 cards from that stack of 15 and puts it in their hand.

They may not peak at any of the face down cards.

Then, simultaneously, both players flip the 2 single cards that were placed face down.

A person may place any card that in numerical or reverse numerical order. Example: Card on table is a jack, you may place a 10 or a queen.

A person can have a MAXIMUM of 5 cards in their hand. When you have less than 5 cards, you may replenish them by drawing a card from the stack of 15 cards.

T3h winnar is the person that gets rid of all their cards.

If a stalemate results (noone can place down a card), you both must draw a card from the 5 card stack and place it on the table.

Doesn't each player put 3 cards face down, then 1 face up. And the higher of the two cards wins the pile.

Nope, looks like each player only puts 1 card face down, then 1 face up and the higher of the two wins the 6 cards.

Some good games mentioned here.

Are there other games created from 2003 until today that you could recommend?
