So far, my only DS game so far is Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. It's pretty good turn-based strategy, but gawdawful hard.
I've played a bunch of GBA games on it too. The Legend of Zeld: The Minish Cap is pretty good.

Only real difference in gameplay is the songs. Elite Beat Agents has a really bad soundtrack. Although overall it is still good and if you aren't going to be able to play imports, it is probably the most addictive DS game.

I have logged like 200+ hours in both of the Advance Wars games (I play it during work, don't tell my boss).
Currently working on getting S-level in every map in campaign mode.
It is awesome to the max.

There's nothing wrong with the soundtrack in EBA. I would prefer to be able to understand the music I'm listening to rather than some incomprehensible J-Pop.
