Recommend some anime titles for me please

Planning to get some anime for the g/f as part of a birthday gift, but I have no idea which ones to buy. She likes the cutsie ones where the girls beat up on the guys with additional furry little animal characters, etc, etc. Or just some good overall anime for a 24 y/o anime lover. I'm planning on buying them at BestBuy.

Actually, on second thought, thats probably not a good idea. Us otakus don't know what she already has, and I don't know what your bb has in stock, but Chobits is always a good place to start, and I guess maburaho, or kiddie grade...Neon Genesis Evangelion is a must, for any self respecting anime person.

Chobits is out on DVD, and obviously Eva is, but other than that, most of what you're going to get from the otaku kids isn't even liscensed in america yet.

try full metal panic fumoffu. it's hilarious and has that. though it's the sequal to full metal panic which is a good series but not a complete comedy like fumoffu. fumoffu doesn't really have a storyline but the 1st series would give you some background info about the characters and show you why they do what they do, not critically important though.

maybe also scrapped princess
