recommend software to tax the system, and check temps?

I'm building a system based around a Habey EMC-800B case, Intel DH67CF Mini-ITX board, and Intel i3-2100T processor.

I'm trying out different fan configurations, trying to get a good balance between cooling and noise.

Can anyone recommend any software I could use to generate some heat inside the case, and also something to check temps without rebooting into the BIOS?

Any recommendations would be appreciated...
