Recommend sliding patio doors brand - 8ftx80inch WxH

Looking for recommendations. Need to preplace my wood doors 8 feet wide by 80 inch high.

I've heard of Pella, Advanced Windows.

I've gotten one quote from B&M store for "their" door @ $1,400

Ideally, I'd go with doors that have blinds inside, but most places said that they don't to them in this width as it is too wide for internal blinds.

On the back of the house we have a Pella slider that is about 10 years old and it has held up really well. Still slides really nice and the seals haven't broken yet. Hopefully it lasts 10 more years but we will see.

On our last house we had a Jeld Wen vinyl slider and it was fine as well. It was just an off the shelf model from Menards. We only lived there for 2 years after installing it though so I can't comment on its longevity.

Blinds between the panes of glass always struck me as a terrible idea. The life of the door will be set by the life of a piece of string.

1 - Sliding (left moving from outside)
2 - No preference. Vinyl, aluminum, wood, mix would do. Looking for reliability in a long run.
3 - I am sure there are blinds w/out strings. Per Menards guy, one company has patent for those kind of blinds, which I find hard to believe.
In terms of my width, they don't install blinds due to reliability concerns. Smaller width tend to work fine as there is less blind to 'move around' inside.

Material will be a function of how much you're willing to pay. Vinyl will be the least expensive. I've had good results with Milgard, though there are several quality brands. The more expensive options are vinyl or aluminum clad wood. I've installed a few of them, and quite honestly don't consider them any better than vinyl.

Can you give me 2-3 name brands to focus on? Price is a secondary concern for me. This is for my home so I'd rather pay now and use it for a long time.

That's how our Pella slider is and it looks really nice. We like the fact that the interior of the door matches the trim.
