Updating daughter's computer, but need to keep the cost down (~$400).
Only requirement is that it has an AGP slot (using existing cards), and is a stable, overclockable board.

Will be using a 3.0e Prescott.

(Not for gaming, but will be maximum multi-tasking).

Thank you

Replacing old Abit BE6-II

I will go with the AI7 b/c of the flexibility, stability and o/c-ability. Also nice to have raid.
I'm searching the forums now for memory that will allow o/c....

Thanks both of you for your help :)

Anything that has some headroom should work good. Something like good PC4000 would be fine IMO.

I just need RAM that will play nice with the 3.0 overclocked to 3.6 ;)

Any suggestions?

3.6 / 3.0 = 1.2
1.2 * 400 = 480

You need RAM that can handle 480mhz (240mhz DDR). Any DDR500 (a.k.a. PC4000) RAM should be able to handle that frequency.

Kingston HyperX, Geil, OCZ, Mushkin, and Crucial all make decent DDR500. Check the hot deals forum, Geil DDR500 is down to about $80 right now for a 512mb stick.
