Hey folks,

I have a rosewill pci-e wi-fi card it uses a realtek chipset and although it works just fine under windows7, it's been nothing but trouble for me under ubuntu and mint.

I'm also considering getting an AC, or at least dual band N, router in the next couple of months, so it would be cool if that were compatible. My apartment is a bit crowded on the 2.4 GHz band.

I've heard that the intel and atheros chipsets both play really nicely with linux, is that correct?

Intel cant be beat as far as im concerned, I refuse to use anything except intel at my work wireless network. Performance is better and reliability is better than any other brand ive used.

And are you using them for *nix type boxes at work?

I personally use an intel adaptor for my install of mint, but have used it on ubuntu as well. My experience with driver support over the years has been very positive with the stock OS intel drivers.
