Back in the day, I read it was better to run memory that was synchronous to your FSB. So I got DDR 400 for my Athlon X64 4800+, then a while later I got DDR2 800 for my Q6600. I happened to drive by the NJ Microcenter last weekend on a family trip, so I stopped in and got a couple of i5 3570K, with the Gigabyte GA-Z77x-UD3h boards. Now I need the rest...
I dont know what to call it now with the memory controller on chip, but I think the FSB is 100 on the i5 3570, so is DDR3 1600 the right memory to get???
The strap meant the ratio right?
For instance:
1:1 = 800fsb and 800 on memory
1:2 = 400fsb but 800 on memory
2:3 = 666 fsb but 999 on memory closk
4:5 = 1600 fsb but 2000 on memory clock
